3 question interview with James Nord

1. What is your vision of a perfect life?

1. I have to say I reject the idea of a “perfect life” in defining that I would be giving up on trying to better myself, my surroundings, the world and my work and since self betterment is a driving force in my life I could not imagine a life without it.

2. What is your philosophy on fashion ?

2. My philosophy in fashion is I don’t like it. What I love is personal style, fashion is something you pay for but style, style is an expression of something that is inside of you. People branding axes, that is fashion and it is a perfect representation of what is wrong with the whole scene. Everyone is idolising these lifestyles they have no interest in living and it is sad. The people who buy that branded ax for $80 are the same who will completely change their “style” every time the Internet or magazines say so.

So let me sum it up. Style is all of the outward manifestations of the person you are and want to become. It should grow and evolve with you, adding pieces and trends from current fashions but never change to accommodate things that don’t make sense for the individual…

3. What fuels your passions?

3. What fuels my passions. Hard question to answer really. I was raised in a passion driven household, both of my parents told me from when I was knee high that a life without passion is not one worth living. They never let us (my brothers and I) forget that we could indeed bend the shape of the world if we wanted and I consider that their greatest gift. My passions are not so much fueled by anything as I am fueled by my passions.
